Cultivating Spontaneity through Meditation – a virtual retreat with Shinzen Young

Join the Consciousness Explorers Club for a four hour virtual meditation retreat with Shinzen Young, the founder of Unified Mindfulness and CEC’s much-loved mentor. In this experiential workshop, we’ll explore strategies to enhance our natural spontaneity through meditation practice, expanding our capacity for creativity, intuition and adaptability. Fair warning: cultivating these qualities through meditation will lead to more “zen bounce” in your life! Structured as a half-day retreat, there will be a series of guided and silent meditation sits, interspersed with periods of Q and A.

Shinzen‘s teachings reveal a gift for insight through unexpected analogies, illustrations, and humour, and he merges scientific clarity with a rare grasp of source-language teachings, East and West. Don’t miss this opportunity to sit and dialogue with a well-respected mindfulness authority.

This half-day retreat is being offered on a “pay what you’re able to” model, with a wide sliding scale to accomodate all income ranges. This is a fundraiser for both the CEC and Shinzen’s Community for Mindful Living – funds will go toward helping both organizations expand programming and extend the benefits of practice to more people. The CEC is a registered not-for-profit with the mission of making meditation and personal growth practices fun and accessible to all.

Zoom link for the workshop will be provided after registration. An audio recording of the session will be shared with registered participants after the event, for those unable to attend some/all of the live retreat.
