Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics Weekend Retreat

Pictures of meditators are boring, so here is a gratuitous samurai image

This two-day retreat at Sugar Ridge retreat centre (north of Toronto) will be a savagely gleeful exploratory romp through four styles of meditation, inspired by my new book with Dan Harris and Carlye Adler, Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics.

Suitable for total beginners to more experienced practitioners. The idea is to kick-start – or refresh – peoples’ meditation practice with two days of sitting and discussion, with some movement and nature breaks to keep the body limber. Food will be mostly vegetarian, with eggs. Cabins will be shared. Excitement will be had, as well as peaceful sighing.

Our main practice will be mindfulness, with excursions into concentration, loving-kindness, and acceptance practices. We will also explore what it means to become your own teacher, able to “McGyver” your practice so you stay curious and open and alert to new existential possibilities. (Also, so you drool less.)
