Space is the place

TEACHER: James Maskalyk
THEME: Space is the place

James: One of the peculiarities of the human experience is that it feels so private, or at least mine does. No matter how much I read, no matter how much I share, no matter how tightly I pack into that clown car, I have the sense the experience is mine alone. What I mean by that is there is the world outside, the birds and clouds and sirens and that clowns elbow right in my face, and my private, insoluble medley of suffering and sensing. Is my separation real, or a cognitive trick? If the latter, where might we find the real window? For this sit we will investigate the possibility of the common thread that binds us all being not our sensory experience, but what surrounds it.
