Extraordinary in the Ordinary

Jude:  I remember how I used to romanticize and even glamorize the spiritual path.  There was this idea that some day I would achieve something fantastical, unlocking the mysteries of the universe, and hopefully I’d help others along their journeys as well.  And there’s something to this, there is something genuinely extraordinary about maturing and seeing things more clearly, and also being able to help others.  But what I didn’t expect was how much more ordinary I would feel, how my drive early on was sincere but also bound up in desire for validation, to “make something of myself”, and as I matured and saw these things more clearly a lot of my ambitions fell away; life became more simple but also more rich.  Come explore this paradox for yourself, maybe you too will find something extraordinary by embracing the ordinary.
