Heart-Brain-Gut

TEACHER: Jeff Warren
THEME: Heart-Brain-Gut
MEDITATION: Exploring Heart Space
INTERACTIVE: Three Selves

There’s been much popular discussion about the rich supply of neurons that connects the heart and gut with the rest of the autonomic nervous system. Exactly how much of this can be characterized as a second and third “brain” remains for neuroscience to work out. Fortunately, when it comes to our own experience, we don’t need to be peer-reviewed. We are explorers; we can find out for ourselves. And that’s what we’ll do this week. What do we learn when we send our attention into these three different areas? How might the so-called “energy” feeling of each centre modulate our experience in meditation, and when we interact with other human being? A reckless plunge into the kooky pieties – and real experiences – of the yogic New Age.
