Meeting Our Parts
Katrina: By now, I’ve gotten to know quite a few versions of myself. Some jostle for space on the stage of my awareness, while others work behind the scenes. Building a healthy relationship with all of these parts is no small task. What’s helped me is connecting with them through my body. It’s easy to judge the part of me that tries to take control — but those judgments tend to soften when I focus on the clenched stomach or the flutter in my chest. From those sensations, I can listen more closely to the wisdom these parts carry about why they’ve shown up.
Tonight’s meditation will be an exploration of the parts of ourselves we know well, along with the ones we’re still curious about. Together, we’ll see what happens when we tune into them through the sensations they create in our bodies, asking what they need us to know.
