Temporal Passage
Avi: There’s an old physics joke that every person has the power to time-travel, but unfortunately they can only move into the future and the traveler always moves through time at exactly one second per second. In spite of this non-negotiable truth, the lived experience of passage into the future is anything but constant. Sometimes the future crashes upon us as we are swept forward in a rush of events. Other times the current stage of life or present experience seems to hang in mid-air like water falling in a slow-motion video. In tonight’s meditation we’ll explore the variation in our experience of temporal passage.
