Thought-Feeling Relationship

Jude: I’ve often encountered the idea, both in Buddhist and psychotherapy circles, that our thoughts create our reality.  While there is a truth to it, I’ve found another truth more evident to my own experience, that my feelings give rise to my thoughts.  There is now a debate: do thoughts create feelings, or do feelings create thoughts?  With some steady observation the answer becomes obvious; they are both true.  Our thoughts and feelings, mind and body, work in constant relationship to each other; reacting to and reinforcing one another.  If we want to make change, or even just get settled, we can be most effective in working with them both, strengthening our mind-body connection and building a cooperative, caring, and responsive relationship between the two.
