THEME: Imagining Freedom
Avi: Humans more than any other creature, live their lives in a world made of imagination. If you look around right now, chances are that almost everything you can see or hear in your environment began its existence inside someone’s imagination. For this reason, I’ve often felt that the limits of what we imagine are limits on our freedom. People often think they can imagine almost anything, and maybe that’s so, but I didn’t say, “the limits of what we can imagine”. Ask yourself, what do you imagine? For how long? With how much interest and engagement? Liberation doesn’t only involve removing what holds one back, it requires movement and action. The imagination is a great place to practice the freedom we want to bring out into the world, and tonight we’ll do it!
