The Wakeful Body with Lama Willa Blythe Baker

The Wakeful Body with Lama Willa Blythe Baker

Join Lama Willa Blythe Baker for a virtual meditation retreat exploring the body as a dimension of consciousness.
When we think of “consciousness” most of us think of the mind, or of maybe something expansive that transcends the mundane mind, but rarely do we think of consciousness as something to do with the body.  Yet the most current scientific theories emphasize that consciousness is embodied and enworlded. Another way to say this is that consciousness lives in the through the body. The body therefore is not merely a material form….it is conscious, aware and wakeful.

In this half day retreat, we will explore what it means to experience our body as conscious, and our consciousness as embodied, and why it matters critically for our practice, our life and the welfare of others.
